Interview with Puku (Children's Literature in Southern Africa)

My work

I worked in the formal education sector for sixteen years before leaving to freelance in 2000.

I began writing while consulting for the Gauteng Institute of Curriculum Development. Then I started writing, editing, compiling and project managing for a range of publishers.

I’ve written textbooks for schools in the Languages and Life Orientation Learning Areas. I've also edited a number of non-fiction books for children as well as fiction for children and young adults.

Six of my picture books have been published as well as a play for pre-teens. Unpublished - several stories for the 9+ age group as well as three young adult books.
